On September 25th Becky McDonald, founder & president of Women At Risk, International will host Theresa Flores, founder of S.O.A.P.
Theresa Flores mesmerizes audiences and brings them to tears. She educates the public on human trafficking in the United States and shows how a person can endure horrific conditions and not only survive, but thrive.
Ms. Flores is not only a survivor, but also a licensed social worker with a master’s degree in education. Her education enables her to guest lecture at colleges, teach workshops and train professionals. She has published five books, two that have been on U.S.A. Today and the Wall Street Journal’s best seller lists. “The Slave Across the Street” received a nomination for an Audie Award, naming it in the top 5 of all biographies/memoirs. The 4.5 stars rated book is consistently among the top 10 on Amazon in Women’s Studies, Child Advocacy, Political and Social Science, Gender and Race Relations, and Family and Health Law. Recently, an award-winning documentary “The Girl Next Door” was made about her life story and activist work.

On October 23rd, Becky McDonald, founder & president of Women At Risk, International will host Chris Baker, founder of INK 180 Ministry.
Chris Baker is a tattoo artist, husband, father and philanthropist …just trying to leave the world a little better than it was when he got here.
Chris founded the non-profit arm of INK 180 in October of 2011 to offer the opportunity for a real second chance to the least of these, the invisible, the forgotten, the discarded. Chris provides his time, supplies and artwork, entirely free of charge to former gang members trying to get their lives back on track as well as the victims of Human Trafficking. INK 180 is entirely funded by donations, no charge is ever asked of the people receiving Chris’ ministry.
The goal of the INK 180 Ministry is to join forces with other tattoo artists and dermatology groups from across the country to provide free tattoo cover-ups or removals.

No longer do we have the luxury of deciding whether or not we need to know about human trafficking. Learn how to become a circle of protection around the loved ones in your life by coming to one of our Civilian First Responder (CFR) conferences. Here, you will learn what makes a community susceptible to trafficking, how to identify a victim, how to respond to and report suspicious activity, and more. Discover helpful tips, action plans, and ways to protect the innocent.
This highly sought-after conference brings the U.S. government, Homeland Security, law enforcement officers, human trafficking survivors, and the president of Women At Risk, International into one room to educate communities on this dangerous crime.
Three Good Reasons to Host or Attend a CFR Event
- You will learn to recognize the signs of trafficking in your community
- You will learn healthy ways to respond to crisis situations
- You will learn how to share this information with community members, of any age
