Karla

Private: Zulu Creations
South Africa

When Karla witnessed the cruelty of apartheid, her heart cried out for justice. Despite great risk for herself and her family, this white South African mother joined the fight to free black Africans from oppression. Even after apartheid ended, Karla remained on the front lines, seeking to empower black South Africans who faced lingering discrimination and barriers to meaningful, sustainable employment. Eventually, Karla’s drive and entrepreneurial spirit led her to partner with the Zulu tribe to create a line of colorful product—Zulu Creations. Now, despite the abolition of apartheid, this micro-enterprise allows the Zulu people to break from the bondage of the past and experience true freedom—the freedom of self-sufficiency, creativity, and earning an income with dignity.
