Benjarong art, passed down generationally since the ancient days of Siam, captures the essence of Thai culture. Partnering with the Queen of Thailand, Legacy Cards mimics this ancient art form by displaying the hand painted designs of old on a new medium—paper! The paper is made from the stripped bark of the mulberry tree, an act that actually rejuvenates the tree. Rescued from the slums, the women making these cards come looking for renewal themselves, seeking to regain the dignity that has been stripped from them in their poverty. Trained as artisans, they spare themselves, their daughters, and breast cancer patients from suffering the scams of traffickers. Their one of a kind art helps restore themselves and other women to dignity so they can leave a legacy, a legacy of hope.
