Women’s Training Center

WAR, Int’l partners with an association that holds a five-month long class to teach their own women and families vocational skills such as sewing, cooking, and floral arranging. WAR, Int’l test-piloted a sponsorship program, allowing a young woman to attend the classes. She was brought into a circle of love and protection. Our pilot program was so successful that women in an association of churches caught the vision. They also have begun to sponsor needy women. WAR, Int’l is supporting them as they expand their program. WAR, Int’l provided a grant that allows the women’s committee to purchase their own property. Now, we seek funding to build a two-story building that will have space for clothing design, sewing machines, living quarters, a dining room, and offices. A new training center facility will allow the program to run year round classes where 50 percent of the participants are widows and orphans. The association has already hired, at their own expense, a full time woman to run the center. WAR, Int’l provided a grant to train this woman in advanced sewing skills so she can, in turn, train others. Currently, this home economics training center operates out of a small house on the back of the association’s property. The house is very small and doesn’t have adequate space for sewing machines, tables to lay out fabric, living/dining quarters, etc. The new building will have a storefront on the street where the women can sell their products and help the program fund its own operating costs. American women have banded together to sponsor needy women to enter this program and this circle of love. We are committed to raising the funds to build this facility so that the ministry can explode, exposing lives darkened by fear and hopelessness to the loving, saving grace of Jesus Christ. We want to “sow by sewing,” knowing that “whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly. But whoever sows generously will also reap generously…enlarging the harvest of…righteousness.
