Anna

Private: Growth In Uganda
Uganda

Though Anna has lost her own family, she has become a family to the fatherless in her village, caring for many orphaned children though she’s a single mother struggling to raise her own. When our partners met her, they saw her straining to feed so many mouths and immediately offered her a microloan. With this money she started her own business, paid back our partners, and two years later purchased two acres of land. As she saves to build a home for her children, she continues to build her business as well as the businesses of others at-risk, purchasing beads from women in the slums so that they can protect and provide for their families. Anna is a woman empowered, expanding her circles of protection to orphans and desperate women, empowering an entire at-risk community and the next generation to rise above poverty.
